With the weather being hot and sunny, the show was held indoors at the Kennel Club Building, this made it more comfortable for the dogs. The hall was spacious with purpose built flooring, allowing for a large ring where the dogs could move and stride out freely. We overcame a few problems with this being a new venue for our club, the caterer we had booked went sick 3 days before the show, but with a little bit of luck, we were able to engage the caterer’s on site at Stoneleigh Park to help us out, the food was of a very good standard and at reasonable prices.
There were overseas exhibitors and visitors from Australia, Denmark, France and Spain, majority had travelled from The World Show in Denmark to Windsor Championship Show then onto our show, this was very nice to see them all, hoping they will come again next year, our judge for 2011 will be Miss Liz Bradley (Brueik). There was a good raffle table, a gate raffle of a luxury dog bed, STECS had a good and colourful stall enabling people to purchase Scottie items, and Royal Canin kindly sponsored the show with Dog Food and ring numbers.
The 2010 Year Book was launched and collected by members in attendance at the show; all other Year Books have now been posted out to members. The vote for the Championship Judge 2013 taken by the members at lunch time was won by Mrs Cindy Pettersson of Sweden (So What). After the show a few exhibitors staying on the campsite within the park, got together and enjoyed a BBQ.

2009 Championship Show
With the exception of one sharp shower, which had everyone running for cover under the trees, it was a lovely day enabling the clubs 76th Championship Show to be held outside at Polesworth Memorial Hall on Sunday July 5th. The ring had been set out in the light shade of the trees on beautiful short green grass. Jean Green (Ionascot) was the judge who conducted proceeding in a quiet and efficient manner. From an entry of 93 dogs making 116 entries Jean found her Best in Show in Stuart Plane's Mayson Carnival at Stuane who gained her 2nd CC on the day. Reserve Best in Show and dog CC went to John & Susan Gaskell's Champion Mayson Forgemaster, Best Puppy in Show was awarded to Scotchmore Going Dutch owned by Jenny & Helena Morris and Best Veteran to Champion Benartybrae Bear's Rory a 10 year old male owned by Geraldine Marshall. Reserves CCs were awarded to Jane Millers Champion Brio Exquizite (bitch) and Champion Torcraig With a Difference owned by Pamela Pagram. Specials for all 1st place winners and the 'Top Spots' had been donated by Royal Canin and the club sends sincere thanks for their generosity.

The 2009 Yearbook was available for collection put together by Secretary Til Tovey and her team of helpers, any not collected will be in the post shortly. The Officers & Committee take this opportunity to thank everyone for their attendance at the show and for all the continuing support given to the club.
Members were also given a copy of a Kennel Club Press release relating to 'Dog Showing & Health' outlining what is being done to promote the breeding of healthy, happy dogs and how dog showing can be one of the best forums in which to resolve any health problems relating to a dogs conformation. The KC would like members to help by contacting their local Member of Parliament to support the campaign. Further information can be obtained by visiting the Kennel Club website http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/item2164 where a format of their suggested letter can be downloaded.

The 2007 Championship show was held Saturday June 30th. Unfortunately due to the recent adverse weather conditions the show was held inside. The rain, however, did not dampen spirits as a happy atmosphere prevailed around a crowded ringside. With 100 dogs making 133 entries judge Ann Falconer, looking very smart in a light coloured trouser suit, found her Best in Show in Stuart Plane's Champion Stuane Loch Guard. Receiving her crowning CC and Reserve Best in Show was John & Susan Gaskell's Mayson Zanadu. Best Puppy came from Minor Puppy Dog and was Gail Dixon's Chatterdale Diablo. Full results and photographs can be found on our Results page.

Rosemary Crewe had made the long journey from Surrey, to be presented by President John Gaskell, with a beautiful orchid plant and cake given by the club in recognition of her 60 years as a member of STC (England). The cake, tastefully decorated with the club's logo, was later cut, and together with a glass of wine was enjoyed by all present.
